On April 25th, Climact hosted an insightful Executive Talk focusing on the climate and energy transition and its impact on businesses. Prominent figures from various sectors, including Luc Vandenbulcke (CEO at DEME Group), Michael Anseeuw (CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board at BNP Paribas Fortis), Veronique Hoflack (President of the Panels division at UNILIN), and Guy Janssens (Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges), contributed to the panel. The objective was to discuss the opportunities and challenges that the Belgian industry is facing in an increasingly demanding international context.
As part of this event, we had the opportunity to visit the Port of Antwerp-Bruges to meet with Guy Janssens. During this discussion, Guy Janssens shared valuable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities associated with the energy transition. As a major port with significant energy demands for electricity, fuel, heat, and feedstock for the chemical industry, the Port of Antwerp-Bruges is pivotal in driving decarbonization and green energy innovation.
At Climact, we calculated the full scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions inventory for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges according to the GHG Protocol. Together with their teams, we identified key actions to reduce their emissions and defined a climate vision and targets aligned with science.
