How Spadel decided to be the Source of change® and adopt science-based targets

Strategic Consulting - Industry & services

  • Spadel is making a number of important climate commitments to become the ‘Source of Change®’. Source of Change® is SPADEL commitment to Reinvent, Reduce, Recycle and Restore to create a healthier tomorrow and a greener planet for all. These four pillars underpin SPADEL ambition to join the circular economy by 2025 and achieve zero net emissions in 2050.

  • CLIMACT has declined the Source of Change Ambition into an ambitious climate target. The target has been submitted by CLIMACT to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi )for validation and acceptance.

  • Impact

As 1 of only 10 food and beverages companies in Europe, Spadel has now approved carbon reduction targets according to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The carbon reduction target of 42% in 2030 has a big impact on strategic choices: on packaging, logistics, energy,…

  • "Climact's involvement in the SBTi process enabled Spadel to validate its action plan and its reduction roadmap, and to defend the dossier internally and before the SBTi committee. Thanks to this, Spadel's ambitions of -42% by 2030 for its entire value chain were approved in April 2019."
