Saint-Gobain Benelux encompasses 36 separate sites in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Within the context of its ambition to become net-zero carbon by 2050, the group wanted to have a credible, robust and clear view of the GHG footprint for each separate site, as a basis to set intermediary objectives for 2030 and develop a reduction plan.

In 2021, CLIMACT reviewed the scope 1 + 2 emission calculations and calculated scope 3 emissions for each of the 36 sites of Saint-Gobain Benelux. Recommendations were done to facilitate the update exercices and to reduce hotspot emissions.

Impact
Saint-Gobain Benelux now has a clear view on its emissions hotspots in terms of activity (purchases, transport, energy) and in terms of sites. Saint-Gobain is better equipped to design a relevant action plan to achieve its 2030 target
