Long term macro demand forecasting for Elia

As the Belgian Transmission System Operator of electricity, Elia needs to assess how electricity consumption will evolve in Belgium in the short, medium and long term. Furthermore, Elia stakeholders require transparency on the forecast assumptions.

We refined the tool initially developed for the FPS Environment to address the specific drivers of power consumption and construct a range of contrasted scenarios reflecting the different electrification trends across all consumption sectors (transport, buildings, etc). We also developed a visualization interface to make these results and the underlying assumptions easily accessible.
