Gilles Dufrasne leads Carbon Market Watch’s work on global carbon markets. He has been following carbon market negotiations at the UN climate and aviation agencies as well as private sector use of carbon credits. Gilles is a member of various expert panels including that of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), the Science-based Targets Initiative (SBTI) and the Voluntary Carbon Market Integrity Initiative (VCMI).
Alice Lemesle joined Danone in 2020 after completing a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development at Paris Dauphine University in France. She focused on various areas such as packaging, circular economy, and product environmental footprint. She is now responsible for co-building and deploying Danone Belux’s Sustainability strategy across all product categories. This includes defining the Belgian carbon roadmap aligned with Danone Group’s SBTI 1.5°C validated target.
Net zero by 2050 is the new norm in Europe. Companies can play an active role.
Net zero is not just a new buzzword, it is a step change for our economy and society. To reach net zero by 2050 at European level, we need to reduce drastically our greenhouse gas emissions but also to capture atmospheric carbon dioxide to make up for residual carbon emissions.
In this context, companies can contribute to the global achievement of net zero. Their contribution will primarily be to reduce emissions but could also be to support the carbon removal from the atmosphere and store it permanently.Partager
